Clevelanders worried about the influence of money on our politics created this website. 

This is a democracy-building effort by unpaid volunteers who believe every Clevelander should have the same access and influence held by the affluent donor class. We simply take information provided in campaign finance reports available on the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections website and make the data easy to search and aggregate. Our goal is to enhance transparency regarding campaign contributions and expenses related to Cleveland’s municipal candidates and ballot measures.

We hope to become a go-to resource for Cleveland residents, becoming the local equivalent of OpenSecrets.org – the group tracking money in politics on a federal level. We trust that this data – the financial underpinnings of our politics – can help inform our understanding of the factors that influence elections and public policy in our city. But more importantly, we hope this site becomes a resource for democracy-building, leading to far more robust discussions on the critical challenges facing our communities and the solutions we must collectively craft.
